   Christine Carty -  President of AARF and a Founding Member

Chris has also served as Secretary of AARF from its inception until 2003 when she became vice president.  She moved to Anguilla from England in the early 1970's to work as a teacher and married Anguillian Leonard R. Carty, together they run their ships chandlery and rigging business Anguilla Techni Sales. Chris has a Dip.Ed from Totley Hall, Sheffield University, majoring in Geography.  Always the animal lover, Chris actively works on fund raising projects for AARF, the spay/neuter project and is a community advocate for the organization. She has a parrot and two dogs. 

 Suzie Donahue - Vice President of AARF /Communications Chairman

Suzie was a  Program Manager for a US based financial forms printing company before she with her husband Steve, retired to Anguilla in September of 2001.  She has a BS degree in History and Political Science from Georgia Southwestern University. Suzie successfully chairs AARF•s• continuing spay/neuter program and is responsible for the AARF newsletter and website. She has previously served as AARF's secretary for 3 years and was also a member at large for one term.   Suzie is actively involved in fund raising projects for AARF, monitors a feral cat colony at one of our local resorts, feeds and traps feral dogs and cats and volunteers at Morlens Veterinary Hospital. Suzie has adopted several stray cats and a chocolate Lab Nora.

Jacqueline A. Pascher  - Treasurer

Jackie is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Anguilla in 1992 from Washington D.C. where she was a Regional Director of Marketing for Doubletree Hotels.  She started a villa rental and real estate agency Island Dream Properties on the island several years ago and is an active member of AARF.  Previously known as a "cat person" she has discovered the joy of owning dogs and currently has 3 dogs and 1 cat. Jackie has served on the AARF Board as Elected Ordinary Member for two terms, was the Membership Chairman for a year and has served as Treasurer since 2006. 

Linda Gratton  - Elected Member at Large of AARF - Education Chairman 

Linda has been a resident of Anguilla since 1995 when she and her sister Mimi made the move from Montreal, Quebec. Linda has been teaching in some form or another since the age of 16. She began her professional career in the field of aquatics and continues to this day to teach water safety to Anguillians, both young and young at heart. To date she has taught more than 1000 children how to swim on Anguilla. Tr. Linda has been a member and supporter of AARF since its inception. She has taught in both the private and public schools on Anguilla. Linda is "owned" by a vizsla and a golden retriever.

 

Gayle Gurvey - Elected Member at Large of AARF - Fundraising Chairman 

 Gayle has been a long time supporter and volunteer for AARF and we have been grateful for her expertise with our fundraising projects both bingo and the yard sale. She has also helped with adoption days, membership drives and our booths at Soroptomist and ABC Fairs. This is Gayle's second year as a member of the Executive Board. She lives on Anguilla with her two German Shepherds  - Roxxy and Zuri.

Maggie Mitchell - Policies and Procedures

Maggie joined the Board of AARF at the August 2007 Annual General Meeting.   She was originally from England, but migrated to the West Indies in 1971, originally to St Kitts.  She moved to Anguilla in 1976 when her husband,  Don, became magistrate, and then became his office manager when he went into private practice in 1980. They have 2 rescued dogs and Don has 3 peacocks and 10 land turtles.  Maggie has a BA from University College London in English.

  Amy Williams (BS) is a Founding Member and Trustee of AARF  

Amy has worked at Morlens Veterinary Hospital since 1994 as a veterinary technician.  She has been instrumental in providing daily high quality care to the adoptive animals of AARF. Her able leadership of the scheduling and surgeries for our spay and neuter clinics is invaluable. 

Joseph N. Payne (M.B.E., C.P.M., J.P) is a Member and Trustee of AARF.

Mr. Payne has served as Chairman & Director of National Bank of Anguilla.   He was a career police officer in the Leeward Islands for 35 years and served as Commissioner of Police in Anguilla from 1976 to 1990.  He is Past Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Anguilla, Past Chairman of the East End Health Committee, Past President of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew ( Anguilla ), representative to the Anglican Synod and member of the Anglican Choir.  He was listed in Who's Who in the World in 1996.  Mr. Payne's extensive experience brings great strength to AARF and the long term goal of improving the quality of life for Animals in Anguilla .  

Patrick Vanterpool (DVM) is a Founding Member and  Past President of AARF.

Dr. Vanterpool is the Country Veterinarian in Anguilla and owner of  Morlens Veterinary Hospital . He is a graduate of Tuskegee University in Alabama where he attained his DVM and also a BS degree in Animal Science.  Dr. Vanterpool has been instrumental in the support of animals since his return to Anguilla over 15 years ago.  His clinic provides shelter and care to all the stray animals of AARF.  As the Country Veterinarian, Dr. Vanterpool has spearheaded revised legislation to deal with Animal Care and Control issues in Anguilla .
